Paris Bails On Billboard Awards

Dissatisfied with the jokes scripted for her to tell during her hosting gig at the upcoming Billboard Awards in Las Vegas (which features a 2-day, killer celebrity gifting suite by Backstage Creations), Paris Hilton has bailed out. This news comes after new BFF Britney Spears inexplicably dropped out from co-hosting with Paris. Read on!

"It is my understanding that some satirical references ridiculed some of her peers," her spokesman, Elliot Mintz, said in a statement. "Paris did not want to say anything that could appear hurtful or embarassing about people she knows."
Mintz said Hilton received a script Friday that contained material she found "objectionable." Representatives for Hilton and the awards show could not come to an agreement about the script's content so she decided to scrap the appearance, he said. A call to Billboard was not returned early Saturday.
The Billboard Awards will be handed out Monday at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The show is scheduled to air live on Fox.

Newly engaged sweethearts Eva Longoria and Tony Parker will marry in the basketball star's native France next year (2007). The San Antonio Spurs player proposed to sexy Desperate Housewives actress Longoria after secretly jetting back to Los Angeles from his team's Texan base last month. He gushes, "We like to surprise each other and Eva's better at it than I am - showing up when I don't know she's going to visit. I wanted the proposal to be very special - and a surprise for her. "Eva really wants to get married in France. It's a beautiful country, a country of love and a place that is very special for us. "Our families are so happy. This is a good time."
